We've never been on a clothing-optional vacation. What is it like? What do I do if I want to arrive a day or so early or stay a day or so late? |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
What do I bring? L iving nude on a boat for seven days with other people will be a unique experience. Since most nude guest do not wear clothes most days and evenings - you will not need to bring much. With that said - You will quickly discover space, especially storage space, is a premium. You will also realize no matter what you bring, it will probably be too much! So here is a helpful guide.

On our nude cruises, our role is to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. The Captain and Crew will be nude as well unless you prefer otherwise. Just let us know. |

We've never been on a clothing-optional vacation. What's it like?
A clothing optional vacation is just
like your other vacations - with one major exception - you don't wear
clothes. A growing number of people are enjoying these types of vacations
and a growing number of charter boats as well as first class resorts are
offering the option to go topless or nude. There are two pretty good methods of going about getting "nekkid" for the first time. 1. A lot of first timers will choose clothing optional for their first trip. Optional means exactly what it implies - you can choose to go with or without your bathing suit. This way you can work out of your suit a bit more slowly until you are comfortable. 2. Just jump right in and "Go for it". If you have already made the decision to go naked to a clothing optional or nude beach you have already passed the biggest hurdle. When we clear the harbor quickly strip all the way out of your clothing, just like you have been doing it all of you life. Remember... All those other people are "nekked" too... so it's not a big thing for them to see you in your birthday suit. |

My body is far from perfect. Won't I be embarrassed? If you're going nude sailing expecting to see a nude version of "Baywatch" you're likely to be disappointed or relieved as the case may be. One quick look around and you will soon realize most everyone is just like you and me. You see bodies of all types, shapes and sizes - tall, short, calorically challenged (thin), calorically endowed (um... opposite of thin), black, white, brown and everything in between. Not wearing clothes is nothing to be embarrassed about. |

|
What are the ages of the people who go nude? Minors are not permitted on any of our cruises without a parent or guardian. With that said, as you cruise around the islands you will see persons of all ages nude. The ages run mostly from the mid-twenties to the early sixties. From our observation we would say that 35 - 50 is probably the largest group, but over recent years it seems that a bit more of the younger crowd are starting to show up more, especially to Caribbean destinations. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Can I be nude all the time? It is your vacation and you make the rules. We do allow full nudity 24/7 except when we sail into certain ports. When we do you will be informed when you must put your clothes on (Checking into customs is a good example). |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
What's this I hear about "Nude Etiquette"? All clothing optional or nude facility have their own rules, and we are no exception. Here are our guidelines:
|
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
What about sex? One thing to clarify about the subject for newcomers as well as a reminder to "seasoned veterans" is that we don't officially condone public sex. Sexual harassment is not permitted, is against the law in most places, and clothing optional or Nudist sailing is no exception.Now with all of that said... let's get real here. The Virgin Islands are absolutely stunning in their beauty and are truly a romantic dream come true. In addition our trips are for adults only. Sooooo... lets mix a romantic atmosphere, a few potent drinks, a butt naked couple on a moonlit evening, and it isn't uncommon for inhibitions to "fly out the window", so to speak. |

Arriving early or staying late Many of our charter guest like to arrive in paradise a day or so early or when their cruise is completed, they want a few more days. The way we figure it -- no one can get too much of paradise. Want to come a day or so early, that's great but we will not be able to accommodate you until the day of your cruise. Your adventure in paradise will begin at 1300 (1:00 pm) on the schedule day of your cruise and it will end no later than 1200 (noon) on the last scheduled day of your cruise. Many hotel and resorts are available to accommodate you before or after the cruise. One of my favorites is the Hotel 1829. A great hotel a short walk from the Frenchtown marina and located in the harbor of Charlotte Amalie. Check their web site at www.hotel1829.com. |

What about Customs?
While you cruise the Virgin Islands, you will
be clearing British Customs once and U.S. Customs twice. Passports: Passports are required after January 1, 2007. If you do not have a passport, you will need apply for one six weeks before your travel. An official birth certificate (no copies) and a photo identification card will no longer be valid in lieu of a passport. If you fail to bring a passport you will not be allowed in the British Virgin Islands. British Customs: Your port of entry into the British Virgin Islands (BVI) will be West End, Tortola or Jost Van Dyke. All cruisers must pay a cruising and charter tax upon entering the BVI. Soul of the Caribbean will cover all of your charter tax and cruising fees if you booked through us. U.S. Customs: Although no fees are required by U.S. Customs, you will find they are more rigid in clearing persons through customs. You will initially check into U.S. Customs at Cruz Bay, St. John. Everyone must go to Customs and be seen in person. Most other countries, including the BVI, allows the Captain to check the crew and passengers through, not the U.S. You will make your final pass through U.S. Customs when you exit the islands at the St. Thomas airport. We will need your passport information three weeks prior to travel if your will be leaving and returning to the US Virgin Islands.Remember, the Virgin Islands is a key area for smuggling drugs and illegal aliens, so you may find U.S. Customs a little more stringent than other U.S. ports of entry. Expect to get your luggage searched. |
